The Tuning Fork is built into one wing of Spark Arena and is where you see an act before they are big enough for the room next door. Programming runs across indie, pop, folk, country, hip hop and electronic, and the venue describes itself as a place for discovery, which is accurate. The sound and lighting are better than the size of the room would suggest, and better than most venues twice its capacity. Everything here is ticketed, so there is no turning up on the off chance. It is the closest dedicated live music room to the Viaduct, about eighteen minutes on foot along the waterfront, or a short ride. Check the calendar and build the evening around what is on.
