Ding Dong is the rock bar, and it does not pretend to be anything else. Live bands play upstairs in the Dead Witch room most Fridays and Saturdays, Thursday is jam night, Tuesday is comedy, and rock and roll karaoke starts after midnight on Saturdays. It runs Tuesday to Saturday, and unlike most venues on this list you can simply turn up rather than buy a ticket. Every event is R18 and there is a footwear rule, open shoes are not allowed. Food is served every night. Two things to know before you go. The entrance is up stairs from Wyndham Street with no lift, and there are no accessible toilets. Ten minutes from the Viaduct.
